MULTI IR Visible Light—ND Neutral Density Filter is an industrial-grade optical filter product designed specifically for uniformly attenuating visible light intensity without changing the wavelength and color characteristics of light. Its core function is to uniformly reduce the transmission intensity of light at a fixed ratio (such as 10%, 20%, 50%, etc.) in the full 400-760nm visible light band, and the attenuation rate of visible light of different wavelengths is consistent, avoiding color shift or wavelength-selective attenuation, with core advantages of high neutrality, high uniformity and wide attenuation range. As a special category of "Optical Filters" in the keyword list, it uses vacuum evaporation coating technology to deposit metal or metal oxide films (such as nickel-chromium alloy films, silicon nitride films) on the surface of optical glass substrates (such as K9 glass, quartz glass). The neutrality error can be controlled within ±2%, and the attenuation density (OD value) ranges from OD0.3 (transmittance 50%) to OD6 (transmittance 0.01%), meeting different light intensity attenuation needs.
The application scenarios of this product focus on scenarios where "light intensity needs to be controlled but light color does not change": in the field of photography, it is used in DSLR or mirrorless camera lenses, which can extend the exposure time in strong light environments to achieve creative shooting effects such as "slow shutter shooting of flowing water" and "blurring dynamic light spots", while ensuring accurate color reproduction of the picture; in the field of laser technology, it is used at the output end of visible light lasers to uniformly attenuate laser intensity, avoiding damage to subsequent optical components or affecting detection accuracy by strong light; in the field of display testing, it is used in display brightness testing equipment to simulate light intensity under different lighting environments and test the brightness adjustment range and color stability of the display; in the biomedical field, it is used in microscope or endoscope systems to attenuate the stimulation of strong light on biological tissues, while maintaining the color authenticity of the observation picture, facilitating doctors to accurately judge the tissue state.
In response to the needs of "Custom Optical Filter" and "Industrial Optical Filters", this ND filter from MULTI IR supports flexible customization: customers can customize the attenuation density (OD value can be accurate to 0.1), product size (from 8mm×8mm to 250mm×250mm) and shape (circular, square, with threaded interface) according to actual needs; at the same time, scratch-resistant coating (surface hardness up to H level), waterproof coating or anti-glare coating can be added according to the requirements of the use scenario to improve product durability and adaptability. In addition, the product also supports mass customization and small-batch trial production. Whether it is a consumer-grade photography filter or an industrial-grade laser control component, it can provide a stable light intensity attenuation effect, ensuring the performance stability of the optical system under different light intensity environments, and is a core optical component for controlling visible light intensity.
